Archive for holidays

Lots of people would like to go on a cruise, but many are unsure exactly how the holiday works, how expensive it is or what is available to them.
So to help people figure out if a cruise holiday is right for them, here’s a list of the most common cruising FAQ’s you’re likely to come across.

When is the best time for me to book my cruise?
You should book your cruise as early as you can, particularly if you’re trying to get a specific itenerary on a specific ship. You might also find it’s less expensive if you book early enough, as cruise ships will regularly drop their prices while they’re trying to sell all the places (it’s when the ship’s nearly full they get really expensive).

What if sea-sickness ruins my holiday?
This is a regularly asked question, and a common worry. Whilst no provider can guarantee you won’t have a sea-sickness problem, most cruise liners will try and follow the calm seas and good weather, lessening the likelihood you’ll be caught in rough seas. There are also lots of different types of medication designed to improve this issue, although if you’re really concerned you might be better off looking at river cruises. River cruises can be just as luxurious (look at Nile River cruises for an excellent example) and should remove the problem of sea-sickness altogether.

Aren’t cruises very expensive?
When most people think of cruises they think of luxury liners taking people on round the world holidays, so often assume they’re extremely expensive. However the price depends on where you want to go, how long you’re planning on spending travelling, which cruise ship you choose, what time of year you go and how early you booked your holiday. There are many much more affordable options out there, if you can invest the time researching on the internet you’re sure to find luxury cruise deals that fit into your price range.

Is there much to do on-board the cruise ship?
People often worry that they’ll be stuck on a cruise ship with nothing to do and no way to get off, and so are often put off the idea. This just isn’t true however, as the majority of big cruise ships now have a massive variety of things to do and see, including restaurants, bars, gyms, theatres, shopping, bowling, swimming, tennis and a whole host of other activities.

There are 60 cruise lines which holds over 300 cruise ships but choosing the right ship and cruise line is very important. Cruising holidays can cost a little so you have to make sure you choose the right cruise line for the money you spend.

Below are the list of top family cruise lines at the moment. Princess cruises, regent cruises, Holland America cruises, MSC cruises, Royal Caribbean cruises, Disney cruise line, celebrity cruises, Costa cruise lines, Crystal cruises and Cunard line.

The on board facilities are outstanding for family on all the above cruise line’s ships. The ships they have contain mini shopping centres if you would like to do some retail therapy. In the evening ships have lovely restaurants if you want to enjoy a romantic meal with your partner. In the nice hot summer day you can always enjoy few drinks in different bars. These ships have supervised programs available for your children on board. To entertain the kids cruise line such as Disney have Disney characters on board.

There are many more family activities, they can enjoy together. There are outdoor activities such as swimming, mini mount climbing and spas. These activities are education and of course very fun. The best thing is if parents want to go on a quiet romantic meal there is baby sitting available on these cruise lines. There is also a teen centre available on the ships for teenagers. So cruises can be a tremendous family vacation for all ages. So this summer why not choose a cruising holiday.

Finest Cruise Lines

Posted by: | Comments (0)

These days the competition within the cruise line is massive. The ratings of below cruises are done on a bi monthly basis to include new ships, on board policies and product enhancements. Thousands of The Royal Cruising Society members help evaluate the score to figure the top cruise lines in the industry. Cunard cruises, regent cruises, crystal cruises, silversea cruises and Royal Caribbean cruises have been a regular feature in top ten but are they going to be there again?? Let’s find out.

The below are the finest top ten cruise lines.

The World Of Residensea is in number one position. Then we have Seabourn Cruise line in 2nd. At position three we have Regent cruise lines (top ten for them again). At position 4 we have Silversea cruise line. Then we have Crystal cruise line at number five. At number 6 we have Sea Dream yacht club. Cunard cruise line is in position 7. They were launched in 2004 and launched the most expensive and largest ship in cruising industry but it was only short lived. At number eight we have Oceania cruises. Azamara cruise line is in number 9. Azamara is a part of Royal Caribbean cruises as it was created by them. Then at number ten we have Windstar cruise line, which was launched in 1986.

There we have it those are the top tens. Other famous cruises such as Voyages To Antiquity and Celebrity Cruises are in position 12 and 13 respectively and have fallen down by 4 places each.

These results show that there is a huge competition in cruising industry these days. Also cruising holidays are pretty expensive and all of these cruise lines have offers and promotions going on. Searching online for the product before buying is always good idea, because you might get something cheaper and of quality. Wish you all the best on finding the right cruise and let us know how your holiday went.

Watching the Titanic again and again will make one think that being on a luxury boat is something that not many people will have a chance to experience. Apart from the extraordinary cost that would prevent many people from considering a cruise seriously, is also the posh lifestyle associated with it that would put many people off. In all those movies people appear to be wearing very formal and ultra uncomfortable clothes that do not really fit into the idea of travelling!

What many people mistake though is that although the Titanic was a luxurious boat, it was not a cruise boat. In Titanic, for instance, the vast majority of the people was trying to get into the United States to start a new file and just a few handful of people got into it for recreation purposes. Besides, it was the time that cruises were totally unknown and the boat was the main means of long distance transportation. An up to date example would be a cruise plane flying for hours and hours with the sole purpose of its passengers having fun while on board, all the way from London to Tokyo.

The reason why I make all those arguments is because I want to stress that the vast majority of people have a completely wrong idea about the kind of people that would take up a cruise. Definitely there are many different kinds of cruises and not all of them are for the super rich.

Cunard cruises being from around £300 for a 2 day journey from North Germany to Portsmouth on Queen Elizabeth. A 2 day trip to Paris would cost pretty much the same. Oceania cruises and Silversea cruises similarly offer low budget options for those who cannot afford paying a fortune.

It is a fact that most of the people travelling on a luxury boat are middle-aged and wealthy but this is not always the case. However, if anyone would like to get a glimpse of how such a cruise feels like, that would still be possible. The vast majority of people who have actually tried it claim that it was one of the bets experiences ever!
